This is a dirty, dirty hack to get MD5 authentication working on outbound
messages.
* This only works for stuff the cache sends; we're not yet trying to
authenticate the messages coming back to us
* The code is awful and dirty! The code which initialises and copies
the security structure around should be abstracted out so the actual
code is nowhere near this dirty
* The send code would benefit from being made somewhat generic - that
way the security update could be done in one place
This at least lets me communicate using my simple test rig.
